Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has recently been his most active in the WWE in years. He’s now set to appear in another WWE episode on February 16.
Just as the February 12 episode of Monday Night RAW aired, WWE uploaded a video on their official YouTube account, titled “The Tribal Chiefs return.”
The teaser video confirms the return of both The Rock and Roman Reigns on the February 16 Friday Night SmackDown episode while the title hints at a potential feud between the two WWE megastars..
Last year marked The Rock’s first WWE appearance in four years after the company’s merger with UFC under Endeavor. Since then, The Rock has joined the WWE’s Board of Directors and started a feud with his long-time rival, Triple H, who recently confirmed that Cody Rhodes will face off against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 – not The Rock.
Ever the showman who has mastered the art of blurring the lines between storytelling and real life, The Rock, in a single statement, shot down a reporter who accused him of failing to live up to his promise of donating to the people of Maui while confirming that he has indeed turned heel.
I typically refrain from responding to toxic, false clickbait garbage like this because I hate dignifying bullshit with a response, but when you use Hawaii’s tragic events to draw attention to yourself I won’t stay quiet.

The Rock is no stranger to heel turns. He’s had a couple of them throughout his career. As a matter of fact, he owes his initial surge in fame to his time with the Nation of Domination as he went from babyface to heel as the Intercontinental Champion while feuding with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. His iconic heel runs would later lead to personas referred to by fans as “Hollywood Rock” and “Corporate Rock”, which many consider as his best runs in the WWE.
However, what the WWE and The Rock has been building up to these past few weeks could potentially threaten those versions of the Hollywood superstar while elevating the product’s mainstream popularity even further – an overall positive for a company dealing with the controversies surrounding Vince McMahon, who officially stepped down in January.
With his appearance in Friday now official, fans are surely hoping to see what else the WWE has in store for The Bloodline with The Great One having recently proven that he alone sits at the top as the head of the table.
As the audiences wait to see how the ongoing WWE storylines will play out, those who want to do the orchestrating can look forward to the release of WWE 2K24 on March 8. The WWE recently confirmed that “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt will be part of the playable roster at launch.
