Marvel’s Spider-Man was a huge hit when it was released and fans are equally excited about the sequel. While most of the details for the game have been kept under wraps, some of it has made its way online.
The latest rumor surrounding Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 comes from 4chan. While 4chan isn’t a very reliable place for leaks, it might be worth your attention.
A user on the popular forum site claims to know the plot details for the upcoming title from Insomniac Games. According to the rumor, the game begins with Peter Parker and Miles Morales teaming up to hunt down a serial killer. It turns out that Yuri, who was also in the original game, is the serial killer and is taking out bad guys in the name of justice.
Peter tells Miles to leave the dangerous investigation up to him. This event foreshadows a conflict between the two later on in the story.
The rumor adds that Peter will be infected by the symbiote early in the game. The alien parasite apparently comes in contact with Peter as Harry comes home from Europe after it sneaks into MJ’s purse and onto Peter’s Spider-Man suit. Peter then receives the Black Spider-Man suit and defeats Yuri with the help of Miles.
In the second act, Norman Osborn hires Kraven to kill both Peter and Miles as he is worried about Spider-Man’s new Black suit powers as well as Miles’ electric powers. Kraven is handily defeated by the pair. Peter and Miles then go to the bell tower to get rid of the symbiote while Kraven sees an opportunity to escape.
According to the rumor, the symbiote bonds with Eddie Brock. Venom will reportedly be a playable character in the game with MJ-like sections without the stealth elements and with more action sequences, puzzles, and “photography stuff.” The rumor continues that the Black suit Spider-Man will have a run-in with Eddie Brock which makes him hate Peter Parker, whom “he also has bad history with.
Kraven will be out to hunt Venom, mistaking him for Spider-Man. Venom ends up killing Kraven and eats his head. Venom then proceeds to kidnap MJ, forcing Peter and Miles to rescue her.
While Spider-Man deals with Venom, Osborn “gaslights” Harry into becoming the Green Goblin. In the final showdown, Peter and Miles will take on Venom and Green Goblin. Peter and Miles defeat the villains and the four join forces to hunt down Norman Osborn.
Osborn kills Harry with a more advanced Goblin Suit and manages to remove the symbiote from Eddie. The symbiote then falls off the roof with Eddie diving after it. Neither of them is seen afterward. The game will reportedly end with Peter proposing to MJ with the latter accepting.
The rumor adds that Mysterio, Sandman, Big Wheel, Shocker, Paste Pot Pete, and Screwball will be side villains in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Doctor Octopus will reportedly be present via an audio log cameo.
According to the rumors, a post-credit scene involving the “multiverse breaking open cause of the Spider-Verse events and a version of Spider-Gwen comes out of the portal confused.
As detailed as this plot leak is, we cannot verify its authenticity. It does sound plausible but the rumor does come from an anonymous source so take it with a grain of salt.
