It has been an inconsistent year for Marvel Studios so far. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was a disappointment at the box office while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 was a huge hit. Marvel certainly wants to end the year on a high note with The Marvels.
Brie Larson's first solo movie as Captain Marvel was a smashing success, earning over $1.1 billion globally during its theatrical run. The movie was the first female-led superhero film to break the $1 billion barrier at the box office. It was also a huge commercial success for Marvel Studios as the movie only had a relatively average budget of $175 million.
An early box office prediction for The Marvels isn't looking too good. According to Box Office Pros, the upcoming Marvel movie is projected to earn between $50 to $75 million domestically during its opening weekend. Movie pundits predict that The Marvels will have a total domestic gross earning between $121 to $189 million in the North American box office.
