Fans have been waiting for the Highlander remake ever since it was announced in 2018. While there is uncertainty about Henry Cavill's participation in the film, its director assures audiences that the movie is still happening.
In an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, director Chad Stahelski gave fans a promising update about the upcoming movie, saying that it could be the start of a movie franchise.
"I think we have some very good elements now," the director said. "The trick is when you have the tagline 'there can only be one', you can't just kill everybody the first time."
During the podcast, Stahelski gave fans a preview of what to expect with the Highlander reboot. The director talked extensively about his inspiration for the movie and how the original had an impact on the development of the current project.
There were previous rumors that Cavill is being replaced by Chris Hemsworth in Highlander. In the interview, Horowitz asked if the Witcher and Superman star is still attached to the project. Stahelski responded "yes" to the question and shared his ideas for a franchise.
