We’ve known for a while that Ubisoft was working on a mobile spin-off of its popular third-person shooter RPG franchise, Tom Clancy’s The Division. Now, the French publishing giant has officially confirmed the game’s name alongside a new trailer.

Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence will be set in a post-outbreak New York City. Unlike the “mainline” installments, Resurgence will follow a different storyline.

According to Ubisoft, The Division Resurgence will offer a “unique perspective on key story events” that took place in both The Division and The Division 2.

The Division Resurgence will feature similar gameplay to The Division and The Division 2 where players will roam around and explore an open world while protecting civilians from enemy hostiles. Similarly, players can opt to play Resurgence solo or with friends via online co-op. Unfortunately, Ubisoft did not confirm when the mobile spin-off will come out, but you can sign up for the upcoming tests.

Ubisoft was notably absent from last month’s festivities. PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo, among others, took turns announcing its upcoming games, Ubisoft chose to skip the usual E3 season. But, it appears that this move will pay off big for Ubisoft soon. With its biggest competitors out of the way, Ubisoft is free to reveal its upcoming games, which reportedly include Skull & Bones. This could all lead up to a massive showcase in August at Gamescom 2022.

The Division Resurgence is different from The Division Heartland.

Speaking of showcases, you might have missed that Ubisoft has a Ubisoft Forward event in the works for September. This coincides with the company’s promise to reveal more about Assassin’s Creed’s future by then.
