Ubisoft is no stranger to weather the storm, or so to speak. A lot of their games have gone on to achieve commercial success and receive critical acclaim despite having disastrous launches due to technical issues and many more.

The release of the Warlords of New York expansion, in particular, solidified its status as a premier title. Many cite it as the biggest turning point for the online looter-shooter title. However, a little over a year after the expansion's release, it seems that Ubisoft is not in a hurry to release a follow-up for their looter-shooter. Ubisoft Preparing for a Massive Late 2021 Update The Warlords of New York expansion set a pretty high bar for what gamers should expect from subsequent The Division 2 updates.

After introducing new locales, fixing the numerous bugs and issues that plagued the game early on in its lifecycle, and improving the progression system, Ubisoft wants to take its sweet time before releasing the highly anticipated follow-up to the Warlords of New York expansion.

According to their latest blog post, the new "major update" will include a new progression system and a new mode. They are reportedly focusing on improving build variety in this supposed update. However, they went on to confirm that it is still in its early stages. Thus, they're preparing for the update to arrive in late 2021.
