For a movie that's supposed to be about the fastest man alive, The Flash sure is taking its time getting to theaters. After finishing principal photography last year, rumor has it that Warner Bros. has delayed The Flash, among other upcoming DCEU movies, due to reshoots and for extra editing. Because of this, what could have been the biggest year yet for the DC Extended Universe just got a little smaller with at least two films pushed out of their original 2022 release dates.
Having said that, the DCEU just made headlines for all the wrong reasons this week after Ezra Miller, the lead actor for the upcoming Flash film, was arrested in Hilo, Hawaii for disorderly conduct and harassment, with a couple also reportedly filing a restraining order against Miller for breaking and entering.
Shortly after the rest of the world got wind of the separate incidents, Rolling Stone reported that Miller's future in the DCEU is in jeopardy. The publication's sources claimed that the studio held an emergency meeting on March 30 to talk about Miller's place in the DCEU going forward. According to the article, the DCEU might have to move on without Miller's Flash, which Warner Bros. later refuted, as per IGN, saying that "no such emergency meeting took place," and that Rolling Stone's report was an "exaggeration."
