Information on what a particular studio's next game is can be found anywhere and anytime, provided you're lucky enough and pay close attention. Case in point, a recent blog post from UK trade magazine, MCV/DEVELOP, may have just hinted at what Sumo Digital's next project is going to be. What Is Sumo Digital's Next Game?

Right now, Sumo Digital is yet to confirm or announce anything new that the studio is presently working on. The England-based video game developer is currently hard at work at preparing their upcoming multiplayer-only co-op stealth-action video game, Hood: Outlaws and Legends, via their Newcastle studio.

However, while all eyes are rightfully on Hood: Outlaws and Legends, it seems like Sumo Digital is already planning ahead.

According to the MCV/Develop's 30 under 30 list, which Sumo Digital's Narrative Designer over at their Nottingham studio, Sarah Longthorne, was a part of, Longthorne has spent the past year "working as a narrative designer on a triple-AAA title". The said description adds that the project is based on one of the "world's best known and best-loved fantasy franchises". The post describes Longthorne's role as crucial to the game's development.

TLDR; Sumo Digital is working on a fantasy-based video game.

Of course, this is all speculation at this point. Technically, Hood: Outlaws and Legends is also based on a fantasy franchise. In case it wasn't obvious, Hood: Outlaws and Legends is a spin on the classic Robin Hood tale.

Admittedly, Hood: Outlaws and Legends does take quite a bit of liberty in how it interprets the centuries-old English story. However, the similarities are still evident if you look close enough. The game's premise, for example, is still that of stealing from the rich and giving back to the poor.
