Suits, the popular legal drama that starred Meghan Markle, might be getting a new lease on life. Following the show's overwhelming success after its Netflix debut this summer, NBCUniversal has reportedly told its creator, Aaron Korsh, to develop a new offshoot.
This news comes as a surprise, especially since Korsh said there was no such thing in the works just two months ago. Nevertheless, it is a development that many fans will approve of.
, the new series will be set in the same universe as the original show but will otherwise be set apart from it. It pointed at the CSI and NCIS franchises as examples of what NBCUniversal is trying to do with the new series.
In other words, it will be set in a brand new location, tell a brand new story, and follow a brand new cast. There was no information on the plot or potential cast members but Los Angeles is a reportedly likely to be the setting of the new show.
Even though Korsh and NBCUniversal haven't agreed on the terms of the project, the platform is prepared to provide all the support required to make the show a reality in the shortest possible period.
