If you've been itching to get your hands on a new fighting game, you're in luck, as Street Fighter 6 was recently announced during Sony's State of Play 2022. From the looks of it, Capcom aims to redefine the genre come 2023.
Who knew Street Fighter could get so vibrant. During Sony's State of Play, a recent showcase of the game revealed a colorful yet hard-hitting Street Fighter 6 gameplay.
The upcoming installment seems to have a couple of new features and two new modes while still retaining the classic street fighter experience in the Fighting Ground mode.
The first mode is dubbed the World Tour, which is an immersive single-player story experience where you take control of your own fighting character. It's not been confirmed whether a fixed protagonist or a custom-tailored character will be used. The World Tour also shows your character in an open world setting running around the streets fighting people. A street fighter game with actual street fighting? Now that's new!
