While fans might have feared the opposite, Heels season 2 is still happening. This update is courtesy of Stephen Amell, who stars as Jack Spade in the Starz wrestling drama. He also revealed that the series is almost ready as the showrunner, Mike O'Malley, is finishing up its finale.

Amell provided these updates when he made a guest appearance on Michael Rosenbaum's podcast Inside of You back in September. The Canadian actor, best known for his role as Oliver Queen on the CW series Arrow, stated that they wrapped up filming the series on the first of July 2022. He revealed that the series isn't out yet because Starz and Lionsgate are currently separating. As a result, both studios are trying to determine which assets belong to which studio. Nevertheless, he reassured fans that the season will launch in the first or second quarter of 2023.

Finally, Amell also revealed a potential third season of the show is on the table as well, but there's currently less information on that front than there would be if the Lionsgate-Starz issue wasn't present.

Amell expressed his confidence in the series, stating that it's better than its predecessor, saying: I would be worried if I didn't think the season was spectacular, and I think the season is spectacular. It's way better. More story, more scope…and it also felt more like a cohesive season because we actually shot it in order and were subject to COVID 'hiccups' but not COVID catastrophes. I'm still very, very confident that there's going to be more [Heels] to film. Stephen Amell stated that the show's second season will debut sometime in 2023.
