Starfield is now in early access and a lot of players are complaining about the game's performance on PC. Bethesda has not yet confirmed if Nvidia's DLSS upscaling technology will be supported in the space RPG in the future.
Over the weekend, social media was buzzing with complaints from PC gamers that the performance of Starfield on mid-level gaming rigs is rubbish. Players rocking the Nvidia RTX 3060 have reported that the game does not reach 60 FPS even on low settings at 1080p resolution. This is significant considering that the 3060 is one of the most used GPUs by Steam players.
Fortunately, a Starfield mod has been developed to add Nvidia DLSS support. The mod was released less than 24 hours after Bethesda's newest RPG hit early access on September 1. The 'Starfield Upscaler - Replacing FSR2 With DLSS or XeSS' mod is now available for download on NexusMods. As you can tell from the title, the mod replaces the current FSR2/XeSS upscaler feature with Nvidia's DLSS.
However, the performance gain using the new mod will largely depend on the GPU on your gaming rig. If you don't see a significant performance gain using the mod, it may be time to consider an upgrade either to your CPU or GPU.
