Starfield is easily the most hyped game to be released in recent years and it looks like all the engagement for the game has translated well into sales numbers.
Xbox and Bethesda went all out on the marketing for Starfield. The title received standalone showcases featuring deep dives into the game. Todd Howard also hosted several Q&A sessions with fans about Bethesda's newest IP.
The hype and marketing efforts paid off for Microsoft as Starfield debuts at the number one spot on the UK Boxed Charts. The game has dethroned Hogwarts Legacy from the top spot, which fell to second place this week. Mario Cart Deluxe 8 comes in at third place while Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Mortal Kombat 11 slots in at fourth and fifth place, respectively.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fell two spots from fourth to sixth place. Newcomer NBA 2K24 debuted at seventh place. Grand Theft Auto V maintains its hold on eighth place. Fae Farm, another newcomer, holds the ninth place on the charts while the Switch port of Minecraft fell to tenth place on the charts.
