BioWare first released Star Wars: The Old Republic in 2011. More than a decade later, BioWare is dropping the massively multiplayer online role-playing game's nth update on February 15. Ahead of the release of Legacy of the Sith, the studio has uploaded a story trailer featuring Darth Malgus and his dastardly new plan.
It's nice to see a developer supporting a game that's been out for over a decade. What's even more interesting is that the Legacy of the Sith expansion is free.
BioWare first revealed the Legacy of the Sith last July. The development team initially promised that the game's eighth expansion would arrive on December 14. Unfortunately, BioWare later pushed back its release date to February 15 of this year in order to give themselves more time to work out the kinks and do additional tests.
If there's one thing that BioWare does well, it's introducing iconic villains to its games. Darth Malgus is not an exception. The Sith Lord has long played a vital role in Star Wars: The Old Republic's backstory, eventually culminating in an epic battle against the players. However, it was later revealed that Malgus survived the events of the battle. Since then, Malgus has bid his time waiting for the perfect opportunity to wreak havoc once again.
