Star Wars fans have plenty going on this month. Barely over a week after The Mandalorian Season 3 ended, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is hitting current-gen consoles and the PC on April 28. Ahead of its delayed launch, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment are lifting the review embargo for audiences who are still on the fence.
According to Metacritic on Twitter, the reviews for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will drop on April 26, two days before the game is out worldwide and a day before pre-loading begins.
Typically, it’s worrying for a review embargo to lift two days before a game hits the store shelves. But, there’s little reason to doubt Respawn and Star Wars Jedi. Many consider the first game one of the best Star Wars games ever. Its sequel won’t be any different. If anything, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is shaping up to be a better game than its predecessor based on earlier information available.

Be warned, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will cost you.
You might want to brace your hard drives for a massive download with the Star Wars Jedi Sequel. The PlayStation 5 version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor clocks in at 147.577 GB while the PC version is a bit heavier at 150 GB. There’s no word on how much space the Xbox Series S/X version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will require but it’s best to prepare at least 150 GB if not more.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will follow an ongoing trend with AAA titles and their physical versions. Even if you buy the physical edition of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you’ll still need to download something.
It isn’t clear yet if physical edition owners of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will only need to download a day one patch or just a portion of the experience or the entire thing.
If we’re being honest, this bit of news takes some of the allure out of owning a physical copy of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, or any game for that matter.
Ultimately, these are minor annoyances for a potential GOTY candidate. Survivor is set several years following the end of Fallen Order where Cal Kestis is still on the run after Order 66 eliminated close to every Jedi alive. It’s now up to Kestis to try and save more Order 66 survivors.
With reviews dropping in a day or two, we’re looking forward to hearing what critics have to say about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
