Outriders turned a lot of heads when it first came out last year. It was one of the first games to launch on Xbox Game Pass and people flocked to it. Unfortunately, the ugly truth couldn’t help but rear its head and the allure of the game’s honeymoon phase fizzled out. What was left was a game that punched way above its weight class and became bigger than People Can Fly could handle.

Fast forward over a year and several fixes, as well as updates, later, and Outriders is finally getting its first major piece of post-launch content.

As first revealed last year, Outriders Worldslayer is coming out this month and it just got its first trailer at the Summer Games Fest.

Apparently, this isn’t all the Outriders content that we’re getting this week. As per Square Enix, Outriders fans can look forward to another upcoming broadcast, Endgame. According to the game’s publishers, the Endgame broadcast will reveal more about everything there is to know about Worldslayer.

The Endgame broadcast will start today, June 10, at 7:45 PM UK time on Twitch.

Outriders is an odd game.

For one, Square Enix hyped Outriders last year as the company’s next big franchise. We also saw how it proved that video game demos still worked in this day and age. But, despite all the acclaim, People Can Fly confirmed that the game had not turned a profit at all. Despite this lack of financial success, Square Enix insisted on retaining the IP following its earlier fire sale to Embracer Group.

If Worldslayer succeeds, People Can Fly might be incentivized to come up with another expansion before working on a sequel to Outriders.

It’s clear that Square Enix sees a future with People Can Fly and Outriders. Hopefully, the IP can start making its developers and publishers money following the release of Worldslayer.

In other news, Square Enix is still expected to hold a showcase for Final Fantasy VII later this month as part of the iconic JRPG’s 25th-year anniversary celebration. At the same time, we just found out that Forspoken is set to release in October with Final Fantasy XVI due out in summer 2023.
