Spider-Man Noir was one of the central figures in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. For some reason, the monochromatic web-slinger was noticeably absent in the trailers for the upcoming sequel. Now, we finally know why.

Nicholas Cage, who voiced the superhero in Into the Spider-Verse, was surprised his character wasn't in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The actor claims he has no information regarding the absence of Spider-Man Noir. But, while Spider-Man Noir may not be in Across the Spider-verse, new information suggests he's getting something better. Variety reports that the 1930s version of Spider-Man will be getting his own live-action TV show on Amazon Prime Video.

The yet untitled Spider-Man spin-off will reportedly be set in 19030's New York City and follow an older and grizzled Spider-Man. According to a source familiar with the TV show, the show will be self-contained and not linked to any other Spider-Man project.
