Miles Morales might be the main web-head in the upcoming animated sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, but Spider-Gwen, voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, is arguably the one who fans want to see in action as soon as possible. The fan-favorite Spider-Man variant, who hails from a universe where Gwen Stacy becomes Spider-Man instead of Peter Parker, played a central role in the first movie. Naturally, she'll be back, alongside Peter B. Parker and a cluster of other Spider-Man variants later this year.

As part of Sony's increased marketing push for Across the Spider-Verse, it released a new image of Spider-Gwen swinging into action. However, keen-eyed observers will notice one particular detail about her new costume.

Although Spider-Gwen will retain the majority of her costume for Across the Spider-Verse, her new look ditches the white stripes at the hip.

You know things are getting serious when Sony looked to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Avengers: Endgame for inspiration for Across the Spider-Verse. Although we likely won't see Thanos snap half the universe away or Iron Man blip everyone back to life, the film will see everyone working together to save the multiverse. But, instead of hundreds of heroes from the same continuity, Across the Spider-Verse will feature other dozens of Spider-Man variants.
