Sony Music Entertainment has announced it's new collaboration with Leo Messi Management SL on an animated TV series about the life of soccer legend Lionel Messi. The animated series is targeted at children and young adolescents, featuring original music from the company's bevy of artists and composers.
According to the press release that announced the collaboration, the series will take the form of a video game as it follows Messi as a child navigating the different challenges in his path. The show will be available to watch in English and Spanish as well as a handful of other unannounced languages. The Premium Content Division of Sony Music Entertainment will supervise its development and distribution.
Here's what the Argentine captain said in a statement: Since I was a kid, I've always loved animated series and my kids are big fans of animated characters. Being able to participate in an animation project makes me happy, because it fulfills one of my dreams! I would like to thank Sony Music for joining this project and we hope that everyone will like the result, especially the girls and the boys. Messi is widely regarded as the greatest player of all time with the hardware to show for it. The Paris Saint Germain forward has a record seven Ballon D'or awards, seven FIFA Best Player awards, six Golden Boots as well as four Champions League trophies, ten La Liga titles, one Ligue 1 title, and numerous other individual and team accolades.
