Ahead of the start of its first State of Play of the year, Sony confirmed an enticing lineup of games that will be available for free to PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers.
Starting from February 6, PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers can play these three titles: Foamstars, Rollerdrome, and Steelrising.
Foamstars is a fresh, vibrant 4v4 multiplayer shooter launching on February 6. Published by Square Enix, this game has drawn comparisons to Nintendo's popular colorful series, Splatoon. However, Foamstars distinguishes itself with unique gameplay mechanics revolving around using soapy foam to control the battlefield. This non-violent shooter promises a mix of playful and strategic gameplay across various modes such as Happy Bath Survival and Rubber Duck Party. It also includes PvE modes, and Square Enix has planned a year's worth of content updates, including new characters, maps, and game modes.
Joining Foamstars in the lineup is Rollerdrome, developed by Roll7, the creators of OlliOlli World. It's a thrilling blend of roller-skating and shooting set in a retro-futuristic world. Rollerdrome is offering gamers a unique gaming experience, where players perform roller-skating tricks while engaging in gunplay. Its aesthetic and gameplay have garnered positive reviews, promising an exciting experience for players.
Completing the trio is Steelrising, an action RPG by Spiders, set in an alternate-history Paris. The game features a robot uprising during the French Revolution, where players control an automaton named Aegis. Steelrising offers a Souls-like gameplay experience with a variety of difficulty options, appealing to both veterans and newcomers to the genre.
