Sega's flagship character Sonic the Hedgehog has had several highs and lows over the last 20 years. After Sega went out of the console hardware business, the fastest hedgehog alive has continued to appear in games, comics, and recently a surprise hit movie.
2021 marks Sonic's 30th anniversary, but surprisingly, there has been very little news about what Sega has in store for celebrating this landmark year of Dr. Eggman's (or Robotnik, if you prefer) archnemesis.
However, a new leak may have revealed what Sega was keeping close to the chest for their famous blazing blue spokesperson. Read on to find out more about the possible Sonic 30th anniversary leak. Prior Sonic Leak There was actually a prior Sonic leak only a month before today. That leak pertained to a Sonic Colors remaster. Sonic Colors was a 2010 platform game published by Sega and released for the Nintendo Wii as well the portable Nintendo DS handheld. It was a commercial and critical success, which was a far cry from the infamous Sonic 06 that left a lasting negative impression on the franchise.
The leak for Sonic Colors popped up on the website of a French video game retail company named SoGamely. The leak for Sonic Colors listed the remaster as Sonic Colors Ultimate Limited Edition. The title was also revealed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch, Sony Playstation 4, and the Xbox One. SoGamely indicates this Sonic Colors ultimate version will be coming on December 2021. New Leak Possibly for a Sonic Collection or a Brand New Game The previous leak is significant as the new one discovered is also from the SoGamely website list. After the April 2021 leak, another entry has been listed as Sonic Collection EU Version. Unlike the Sonic Colors entry, however, this entry only has a template so far.
