David F. Sandberg, the director of Shazam! and its upcoming sequel, has revealed that the production on the film is complete.
Sandberg confirmed the news on Instagram where he shared an image of the film's titular character with the caption "Finished! Now for a little time off. See you in theaters in March!"
In the image, Shazam! can be seen hovering in the air with a glowing staff in his right hand. The location is an arena and the sign on the hero's suit is glowing. Also, there is a flash of lightning just behind him. The scene makes for an impressive showing and fans are itching to see what the movie holds.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods started production in 2019 shortly after the first film's release. In addition to Sandberg, the film will see Zachary Levi reprise his role as the titular character and Henry Gayden as the scriptwriter. The film was originally meant to come out last April. Unfortunately, it suffered several delays some of which can be attributed to the Covid-19 pandemic.
