House of the Dragon Season 2 will introduce 5 new dragons

With Game of Thrones creating a worthy adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy world novel called A Song of Ice and Fire, the stage was set for its trio of fire-breathing, flying dragons. When House of the Dragon was later announced as the first GoT spinoff which would serve as a prequel to the hit series, the pressure started mounting.

After the amazing feedback that season one generated, it's no wonder the show's writers are planning to build off the dragon storyline that has people hooked in.

"The pressure of trying to follow the original series is nothing compared to the pressure of trying to finish the novel," George R.R Martin said. "That has me sleepless at nights. The show? That's Ryan's problem." When asked about the screening they just had attended, and if the spinoff is doing the main adaptation justice, Martin had this to say:

This is a favorite of mine. Of course, I'm hardly objective," Martin told the crowd about the episode. "I thought it was really powerful. This guy [Condal] has an amazing writing staff. Because if you read my book Fire & Blood, which you should, it's a fake history. So there are a lot of the details that are in this that are absolutely wonderful and moving that are not in the book. They added stuff, and they added good stuff, which is important.

House of the Dragon Season 2 will start filming soon ahead of its premiere sometime in late 2024. Fingers crossed, this is enough time to CGI in more dragons than in the first season.
