Scream 6 will premiere this weekend and ahead of its release in movie theaters, critics got the chance to share their thoughts about the upcoming movie. After successfully reviving the franchise last year with Scream 5, the film's directors, Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, had the tall task of meeting fan expectations.
But, judging from the initial reactions, Scream 6 has exceeded most of its predecessors and might even best Scream 2 - widely considered the best installment in the series.
As of the time of the writing, Scream 6 hovers between 77% and 82% on Rotten Tomatoes with roughly a dozen reviews. This number could go up or down over the next few days, but we're confident that fans will love it just as much as the critics have.
Here's a round-up of some of the best critic reviews of Scream 6: IGN Movies - 9/10 NME - 4/5 London Evening Standard - 4/5 Independent (UK) - 4/5 ComicBook.com - 4/5 Punch Drunk Critics - 4/5 Associated Press - 2.5/4 Scream 6 does an excellent job paying homage to the older films while setting up future installments.
