Bandai Namco released more news on Scarlet Nexus, confirming its release date and the publication of an original anime inspired by the game. According to the publisher, Scarlet Nexus will arrive on major platforms on June 25 this year, with 4K and Smart Delivery support on Xbox consoles.
The announcement was made via a trailer, which details the story and the main mechanics of one of the playable characters, Kasane Randall. According to the images, the co-protagonist will have psychokinesis abilities, being able to levitate objects in the scenario and even enemies themselves during combat, and should have an interesting plot involving the mysterious Red Strings that appear in her dreams. Check out the trailer and more screenshots.
The plot of Scarlet Nexus, according to the game's official anime website, takes place in the year 2020 in a world where bizarre life forms, called only Others, begin to devour human beings, and a force to combat these creatures is formed.
Scarlet Nexus' two protagonists join this team in different ways: Yuito was rescued by the faction as a child; while Kasane was deliberately recruited. Both, however, are connected to Kasane's strange dreams.
In addition to the story, the two characters promise completely different gameplay experiences: Yuito delivers more blunt attacks with his sword, while Kasane uses the kunai for broader strokes with greater range. Both Yuito and Kasane also have their own skill trees and will be joined by several other characters throughout their missions.
