The WWE has a very good problem on its hands right now after the fervent fan support for Sami Zayn threatened to hijack the recent promo segments between Paul Heyman and Cody Rhodes.

Zayn most recently lost to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2023, which solidified his status as a hot commodity and babyface that the WWE can use entering this year's WrestleMania. However, it appears that not even the WWE predicted just how much fans would get behind Zayn.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (via Ringside News) reports that the higher-ups at the WWE were "very concerned" that the chants for Zayn would overshadow Rhodes in his recent WWE Raw appearance.

Thankfully, the WWE and Heyman were quick on their feet, resulting in a promo that effectively sealed the deal on the feud between Cody and Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 39.

The WWE has had trouble before when it didn't have a superstar riding a high heading into WrestleMania. The WWE has two this time, and while it's certainly causing problems, the WWE would very much prefer this situation to having none at all.
