Sadie Sink is reportedly joining the MCU as Songbird

If the rumors are true, then Sink will be reuniting with Stranger Things co-star David Harbour in the Thunderbolts. Harbour plays Alexei Shastakov aka Red Guardian in the MCU. He first appeared in Black Widow alongside another Thunderbolt team member Yelena Belova played by Florence Pugh.

Sink will be joining the Thunderbolts cast which includes Harrison Ford as General Theodore "Thunderbolt" Ross and the returning Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier. Hannah John-Kamen will be reprising her role as Ava Starr aka Ghost from Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus returns as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Black Widow villain Antonia Dreykov aka Taskmaster played by Olga Kurylenko will also be making a return. Who is Songbird? In the Marvel comics, Songbird aka Melisa Gold is the second in command of the anti-hero team. She is also known as Screaming Mini and is a former supervillain before joining the Thunderbolts team.

Songbird can also manipulate soundwaves to take on a physical form, like shaping wings from sound to give herself the ability to fly.

While details about the upcoming movie are still few, reports suggest that Thunderbolt Ross will become the President of the United States. Ross assembles the Thunderbolts to recover adamantium from the dead celestial Tiamut from the Eternals movie.

According to rumors, the island will be named "Genosha" which is also the name of a safe haven for mutants in the comic books. One member of the team named Sentry will go mad after hearing voices in his head and the anti-hero team will be tasked with stopping him.

The Thunderbolts will be premiering on July 26, 2024.
