Maximum Effort is co-producing the remake of the 90s era cartoon.

Maximum Effort, the production outfit founded by Ryan Reynolds, is expanding to producing animated series. The company is reportedly co-producing the remake of a popular 90’s cartoon. If any of you grew up with Biker Mice from Mars, it’s time to put on the rose tinted glasses.

Reynolds, through his production company, is reportedly teaming up with Nacelle and Fubo to bring back the Biker Mice from Mars animated series. The actor himself released an official statement about the upcoming reboot cartoon show.

“Some people know that I am a motorcycle enthusiast,” Reynolds said in an official announcement. “So, it was only natural for us to jump on board Biker Mice from Mars. Maximum Effort and Fubo look forward to putting a new spin on this cult classic with our friends at Nacelle.”

Biker Mice from Mars debuted in 1993 and aired on Fox Kids. The show followed the adventures of Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie after they crash-landed on Earth. The trio are the only survivors after alien invaders called the Plutarkians wiped out the entire Martian race.

Nacelle owns the rights to Biker Mice from Mars.

In one of the cartoon world’s more believable premises, the group defends their new home against the Plutarkians who want to plunder the planet of its natural resources. The trio uses their high-tech motorcycles as they fend off attacks from the space invaders.

Nacelle recently acquired the rights to the Biker Mice property, and also recently released a new line of toys based on the show. Reynolds will serve as an executive producer for the show. Brian Volk-Weiss will be directing the TV show’s pilot episode. The director is best known for his work in the Netflix documentaries The Toys That Made Us and The Movies That Made Us.

Biker Mice from Mars will be Maximum Effort’s first foray into animated shows, and will be the first animated show to premiere on the Maximum Effort Channel. The channel is available for streaming on Fubo and Amazon Freevee. The animated show will also be released on LG Channels, Plex, Sling Freestream, Tubi, VIDAA, VIZIO Watchfree+, and Xumo Play.

Maximum Effort has not yet revealed its plans for the project.

It is unclear how much of the original will be changed 27 years after the series ended. Very little is known about the upcoming project at this point. We expect Reynolds to be much more involved in the project moving forward.

What do you think about the Biker Mice from Mouse reboot? We think that the animated series will be successful if it stays true to the plot of the original series. However, we would also like to know more about the group and their lives on Mars.

There is still no official release date for Biker Mice from Mars as of writing.
