Rockstar is expected to announce Red Dead Redemption remake this year

Unfortunately, we can't consider either of these claims as official information. Even if releasing a series of remasters (or remakes) lines up with Rockstar's current strategy, everything that you just read is mere speculation until otherwise confirmed.

With that said, we'd be remiss if we didn't bring to your attention yet another source claiming pretty much the same thing.

According to AccountNGT on Twitter, there is a "pretty high" chance for Rockstar to announce a next-gen patch for Red Dead Redemption 2 and a remake of the original Red Dead Redemption. Similar to previous sources, AccountNGT is not affiliated with Rockstar in any way. But, since the user was the one who leaked Star Wars Eclipse long before anyone else got wind of it, it wouldn't hurt to listen to what he has to say.

At the end of the day, Rockstar will want to release a next-patch Red Dead Redemption 2 patch. The game hit the market in 2018. Even if Red Dead Redemption 2s stunning environments have kept up with current-gen graphics, it wouldn't hurt to see just how much better the game would look with native support on the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.

Rockstar will confirm part of the recent leaks if it announces a next-gen patch for Red Dead Redemption 2 this year. Fingers crossed, a Red Dead Redemption remake announcement will come after.

Ultimately, we're just hoping that Rockstar has learned from its mistakes with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. Otherwise, Rockstar might find itself in the midst of refunds and complaints once again.
