Fans believe that Rockstar is teasing an international setting for GTA VI

You better back your bags, because it looks like the next Grand Theft Auto game is going international.

Grand Theft Auto is a parody of the United States. Every fictional city that the games have been set in is based on actual cities in the U.S. For example, Liberty City is New York while Los Santos is Los Angeles and Vice City is the game’s version of Miami, Florida. However, for GTA 6, Rockstar Games is planning on taking gamers to an international setting, or at least, part of the game will be inspired by foreign lands.

What is particularly interesting about the most recent set of GTA VI rumors is that it comes from an official Rockstar Games job listing.

When is Rockstar going to announce GTA VI?

At the moment, Rockstar is looking for a Photogrammetry Artist. The said individual will “discuss and plan possible scan locations with Art Team, both local and international.” The listing doesn’t specifically state what game it is for, or the setting. However, it doesn’t take an expert to tell that Rockstar is thinking about an international setting for an upcoming game, which many believe is GTA VI.

Unfortunately, this is as close as most of us can get to official information from Rockstar. If it’s any consolation, the listing does confirm that whatever game that Rockstar has in development will use photogrammetry. This means that it’s going to be a visual feast like 2018’s open-world western title, Red Dead Redemption 2.

In other news, fans believe that Rockstar left a GTA VI easter egg on the GTA Remastered Trilogy trailer. Meanwhile, an earlier Rockstar job listing suggests that GTA VI will have destructible scenery.

What’s next for Rockstar Games?

Fans can also look forward to playing GTA V on the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X in 2022.

If it’s any consolation, Rockstar did give audiences something to sink their teeth into while waiting for more GTA 6 news. After several leaks and much speculation, Rockstar finally confirmed the GTA Trilogy Remaster earlier this month. The bundle, which will release on November 11, will feature remastered versions of GTA III, San Andreas, and Vice City.
