Fans of the American adult animated FX sitcom Archer will be overjoyed to learn that recording for Season 14 has begun.
In a Screen Rant interview, Chris Parnell, who voices Cyril Figgis’ character, revealed the exciting news, saying:
I think you got a pretty good sense of the big shift that happened with season 13 without Mallory around, sadly, without Jessica. But yeah, I think it’s gonna be more of us doing spy stuff, but we’ve just started recording season 14, so it remains to be seen what else is gonna happen.
In March 2021, Jessica Walter, who voiced Sterling Archer’s mother, Malory Archer, passed away in her sleep. Subsequently, Archer’s creator, Adam Reed, innovatively gave Malory Archer a perfect send-off from the show at the end of Season 12.
Following her departure, the spy conglomerate known as the IIA (International Intelligence Agency) acquires the agency. As such, Archer and the gang struggle to find their identity as they execute odd missions for the show’s antagonist and leader of the IIA, Fabian Kingsworth.
Parnell did not disclose any details about the upcoming season, but we can expect to see a lot of characters growing and coming into their own now that they’ve had a whole season to come to terms with Malory’s departure.
