There's nothing worse for someone who loves what he's doing to stop them from doing it. For Randal Keith Orton, this is wrestling. Unfortunately, as much as fans and the Legend Killer might want to return to the WWE soon, it's not close to happening at all.
Orton's hiatus commenced post May 2022, following a searing showdown with The Usos. In a defining moment that still resonates among fans, The Usos triumphed over RK-Bro, the dynamic duo of Randy Orton and Matt Riddle, in the WWE Tag Team Championship unification match on SmackDown. The aftermath saw Orton unceremoniously thrust through the announce table, an incident which might have been more injurious than initially perceived, marking his unforeseen sabbatical from the ring.
Whispers and rumblings from within the wrestling community suggest a more grave reality. Orton has undergone lower back fusion surgery. Such a procedure isn't frequent among wrestlers, with sources telling Fightful Select, "doctors have told Orton that wrestling in the future isn't a good idea, but he still plans on it."
