Krafton is working on a PUBG animated series helmed by Adi Shankar

For those that don't know, Adi Shanker is the producer of Netflix's highly successful Castlevania animated series. After the show's four-season run, which led to a spin-off series, Shankar has moved on to work on other projects.

In addition to the PUBG Animated Series, Shankar is also the creator and executive producer of Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.

Having said that, we can assume that the project is in safe hands. Unfortunately, Krafton declined to reveal more information about the animated series.

Overall, this appears to be a part of Krafton's increased effort to expand on PUBG's in-game lore. In recent years, the studio has tried to build up the lore behind the game, adding small tidbits of information. This is likely in response to the more lore-heavy approach of its competition like Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite, and Apex Legends.

Of course, just exactly what the PUBG animated series will be about is in the hands of Shankar. The massive PUBG universe is literally at his disposal.

If it's any consolation, Krafton did state that Shankar is looking forward to "revealing to everybody what winning a chicken dinner looks like." This suggests that the project won't deviate too much from the battle royale theme of its source material.

For now, all we can do is wait for more announcements from Krafton.
