The PSVR 2 is launching in February with a steep asking price

The PlayStation VR was considered an economical alternative to the VR consoles on the market, but its follow-up won't be as affordable.

It'll be interesting to see if a lot of people will buy the PSVR2 given its price.

The PlayStation VR 2 finally has a release date and a price, but it’s not all good news.

According to Sony’s latest announcement, the PSVR 2 will hit store shelves starting February 22, 2023. This is in line with the company’s earlier claims about its release. On top of the release date, Sony has confirmed the price of the PSVR 2 and it’s not cheap.

With a starting price of $550, the PlayStation VR 2 isn’t cheap. If you factor in the price of the price hiked PlayStation 5, you’ll need to shell out more than $1,000 to enjoy a next-gen VR experience on PlayStation. If it’s any consolation, Sony will reportedly have two million units ready to be shipped. The only question now is, are people going to bite?

If you’re interested in buying the PSVR2, you can shop directly from PlayStation and place your preorder starting on November 15. But, if you insist, you can also register your preorder today, November 2.
