It has been three years since Jumanji: The Next Level premiered in theaters. Fans of the film have been asking about the next installment of the franchise that has been a smash hit.
During a Collider interview, Jumanji: Next Level producer Hiram Garcia shared updates on the film. Garcia confirms that "Jumanji is definitely going to happen."
According to Garcia, director Jake Kasdan is still tied up directing Red One. The movie, also produced by Garcia, stars Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans. The movie is slated for a December 2023 release.
Garcia revealed that he has been having conversations with Kasdan about the next Jumanji film, saying: We actually have a great take on what we're going to do for the next movie. So I know in talking with Jake, once he comes clear of 'Red One', that's going to be his next priority for him and that's something we definitely want to make. The assurance from the series producer that there will definitely be a third film should be an exciting development for fans. The first two films have been blockbusters and fans should expect no less from the third movie.
