After many months of speculation, Prime Video has reportedly renewed the Chris Pratt-led The Terminal List for a second season. In addition, the streamer signed off on a prequel that will star Taylor Kitsch in the lead role and feature Pratt in minor roles.

This news comes courtesy of a Deadline report, which also revealed that Pratt suggested expanding the series with the prequel show during conversations.

Following its release last July, the action thriller television series received mixed to negative reviews from critics. However, this didn't deter viewers who streamed 1.1 billion minutes of it in its first week. The show also climbed up to No. 2 on Nielsen's weekly streaming charts and scored a 94% approval rating on the review site Rotten Tomatoes. Given its performance, many fans have clamored for renewal but to no avail.

Prime Video hasn't officially announced the shows. However, Pratt and Jack Carr, who authored the books the series is based on, have always maintained that a second season will happen. During a discussion on Carr's podcast Danger Close in September, Pratt stated "To the rabid fans of The Terminal List out there, you have nothing to worry about. We love you and appreciate your support. It's our life's mission to make sure you can come back to the well. We are working away." To Pratt's comment, Carr added, "There may be some cool stuff on the horizon being discussed."
