The Ascent was released back on July 29, 2021 for Xbox consoles and the PC. Fans almost immediately gravitated towards the cyberpunk-themed action RPG, especially as it delivered on its premise a lot better than Cyberpunk 2077, among others. Unfortunately, The Ascent wasn't released on the PS4 and the PS5, leaving PlayStation owners out of the loop about this hidden gem of a game.
The good news here is that the game's ESRB rating suggests that PS4 and PS5 fans will get a chance to play The Ascent soon.
Is The Ascent going to release on the PS4 and PS5?
The Ascent was one of the games released last year that capitalized on the fans who had walked away disappointed from Cyberpunk 2077. So, it's only natural the PlayStation owners celebrate the chance to play the game.
Keep in mind that the game's developers, Neon Giant, have not confirmed the The Ascent's PS4 and PS5 release. But, it all feels like only a matter of time after several users spotted a recent update on the game's ESRB rating page. Whereas The Ascent's page previously contained only listings of the game on the Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and the PC, it has since been updated to include both the PS4 and the PS5.
