In a disappointing development for PlayStation Plus Extra members, a significant update is set to occur in the service's game catalog.

As the year comes to a close, PlayStation Plus is removing several key titles from its massive but, admittedly, less-than-stellar collection. The PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers, known for providing subscribers with a broad array of games at no additional cost, will experience this change as a part of Sony's regular content rotation.

Come January 2024, a total of nine games are scheduled for removal from the PlayStation Plus Extra tier, as shown on the "Last Chance to Play" section. This includes critically acclaimed titles like It Takes Two and Devil May Cry 5, along with several other popular games. It Takes Two, in particular, garnered substantial attention and praise, even clinching the award for the best game at The Game Awards two years ago. The full list of games set to leave the Extra tier in January comprises: Devil May Cry 5 Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition It Takes Two Jett: The Far Shore The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae Omno Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire - Ultimate Edition SnowRunner Existing subscribers will only have over 30 days to complete the said titles, as PlayStation typically refreshes PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalogs around the middle of each month.

Sony needs to do a better job improving its offerings to encourage customers to keep on subscribing.
