Paramount Pictures has provided fans of the long-running horror slasher franchise, Scream, with first looks at the forthcoming sixth installment scheduled to release next year.
The trailer lasted just a little over a minute and showcases the film's new setting. Instead of Woodsboro, where the previous five installments took place, Scream 6 will be set in the city of New York. The trailer opens with the four survivors from Scream 5 getting on a train on its way to Brooklyn. However, it is Halloween and among the numerous train passengers is Ghostface who has, apparently, followed the survivors to the new city.
Scream 6 will see the return of Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding as Tara Carpenter, Sam Carpenter, Mindy Meeks-Martin, and Chad Meeks-Martin respectively. The four characters were the protagonists of Scream 5 who managed to survive the notorious murderer Ghostface.
The film will also star Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers with Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving also making their returns. Unfortunately, Neve Campbell who portrayed Sidney Prescott announced she won't be reprising her role in the new film due to the inability to come to an agreement with the studio on her pay.
