The Call of Duty franchise is synonymous with first-person shooters these days. However, one thing that CoD hasn't done well is transition to a more mobile platform. Save perhaps for Call of Duty Mobile and the Steam Deck, Activision's premiere shooter hasn't been released on a portable platform in years with its last launch on a Nintendo console happening back in 2013's with Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Hot on the heels of Microsoft's acquisition and a statement that it intends to bring Call of Duty to the Nintendo Switch, it appears that the FPS juggernaut is on the fast track to the hybrid console.

According to @RalphsValve on Twitter, "Modern Warfare Remastered is supposedly coming to Nintendo Switch." He adds that this will be the first game of the franchise to come to Nintendo's latest platform.

Unfortunately, the insider did not confirm which studio will lead development on the Switch port of the Call of Duty game and when it's going to arrive. However, since Activision Blizzard's eventual owners already expressed their interest, it's probably only a matter of time before the hit FPS is playable on the Switch. We can add the report to the growing list of evidence that the port is coming.
