The internet loves to poke fun at Skyrim being ported over to pretty much every console. The 5th Elder Scrolls title was first released for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 back in 2011.
Since then, Bethesda has released the game for the PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, as well as VR headsets. However, Rockstar Games has ported Grand Theft Auto 5 nearly just as many times.
Rockstar Games first released the latest GTA title on the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2013. A year later, PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions were made available. Now, the next-gen version of the game is scheduled to release on the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, with fans also asking for a Switch port.
By the end of 2021, Rockstar Games will have ported GTA 5 over to at least seven different consoles and three console generations.
With that said, while the release date for the next-gen version of GTA 5 has been confirmed along with next-gen exclusive vehicle upgrades, the affable but coy Rockstar Games has wisely kept other, more specific details about the upcoming version of their 2013 title under wraps.
