Ever wondered whether your voice matters as a fan? Persona 3 Reload is the perfect example illustrating that it does. The game is a remake of the eponymous Persona 3, which was released in 2006. Atlus, the video game studio behind the original Persona, began work on the remake after fans of the original title wouldn’t stop clamoring for a remake – and now we have a new trailer.

Since Atlus announced Persona 3 Reload in June, we’ve seen three trailers that give us a clue of what to expect in the title. The last, titled Conflicting Fates, arrived a few days ago and offered a fresh perspective on the remake.

Unlike the first two trailers, this new trailer showcases the return of the antagonists or the Strega members – Takaya Sakaki, Jin Shirato, and Chidori Yoshino – and the Velvet Room attendant, Elizabeth, among others.

It also features the protagonists and sheds light on their ambitions and goals. The trailer provides an insight into the updates to the original Persona 3 too, as well as the game’s release date, and new imagery.

Atlus’ description of the video reads, “Step into the shoes of a transfer student thrust into an unexpected fate when entering the hour “hidden” between one day and the next. Awaken an incredible power and chase the mysteries of the Dark Hour, fight for your friends, and leave a mark on their memories forever. Persona 3 Reload is a captivating reimagining of the genre-defining RPG, reborn for the modern era.”

Persona 3 Reload is a faithful remake of the original video game while sporting a suite of graphical and functional upgrades. In the game, the protagonist is a quiet Gekkoukan High School student who has just returned to the city of his childhood ten years after his parents died in a car crash.

Soon after his return, this boy gains the ability to summon the physical manifestation of his inner spirit, better known as a Persona. He then joins a group of like-minded Persona users, named Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (SEES).

Here, he learns about the Dark Hour and Tartarus, the supernatural world within the universe. Together with the other members of the squad, the SEES fight the Shadows and delve into the mystery of the Dark Hour.

According to this trailer, the remake will differ from the original Persona 3 in many ways. To illustrate, it will feature many new episodes that will give players an insight into the Strega members’ upbringing. It will also include the familiar turn-based battle system of the Persona titles with various tweaks and improvements.

Persona 3 Reload will arrive on all major consoles on February 2, 2024, including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One.
