Ghostbusters is one of the few movie franchises that have a proper video game adaptation. 2009's Ghostbusters: The Video Game saw the original cast share their likeness to what is effectively a sequel to 1989's Ghostbusters II. The game managed to sell three million units with a remaster being released for multiple platforms in 2019. Although the game never got a sequel, a new game based on the iconic franchise might be coming soon.
When is the next Ghostbusters game going to be released?
As far as legitimate sources go, one of the people who might be featured in an unannounced video game is as credible as it gets. Case in point, Ernie Hudson. The 76-year-old actor is best known for his portrayal of Winston Zeddemore in the Ghostbusters movie series. Like the rest of the original cast members, he also lent his voice and likeness to the aforementioned video game. So, when he says that a new Ghostbusters game is coming, it's worth listening.
During an interview with Countdown City Geeks, Hudson mentioned that he just "got an email" because he and the rest of the OG Ghostbusters crew are "doing another video game." He added that he's not sure who's going to do it, but that both he and Dan Aykroyd are involved. He explains that he doesn't know when it's coming out, but confirms that "it's definitely happening."
