Epic Games is shaking things up for the much-loved battle royale game, Fortnite, in a big way. Specifically, Epic is changing the Ranked Mode to keep players on their toes and make it more fun as well as challenging.
According to the official blog post, the new Fortnite ranked system applies to both the Battle Royale and Zero Build modes. To try it out, all you need to do is to toggle it in the main lobby before starting a match.
Epic is hoping that the new Ranked mode will give players a better and more rewarding experience. It will replace the old Ranked Arena mode and use feedback from the Fortnite community to make things better.
One of the biggest goals of the new Ranked Mode is to match players with others of equal skill levels. To accomplish this, the new Ranked Mode will have a new ranking system, split into the following:
- Bronze
- Bronze I
- Bronze II
- Bronze III
- Silver

To usher in the new changes to Fortnite, Epic is giving away cosmetics following the 24.40 update for those who participate in ranked matches. These seasonal cosmetic-rewarding quests will give players unique season-specific rewards. This gives players even more of a reason to play their best. Plus, it makes the game more fun by letting players show off their rewards in the game.
Fortnite is a big deal in the world of video games, and players everywhere are excited about these changes. The new as well as improved Ranked Mode is a surefire hit that will bring in casual players and pros alike.
Epic continues to push boundaries with Fortnite, most recently launching the Unreal Editor for the free-to-play battle royale shooter.
