After a COVID-extended wait, fans finally got a chance to see Henry Cavill's Geralt once again in Season 2 of The Witcher back in December. Although the wait was very much worth it, eager fans are hoping that Geralt's third return won't take as long. Unfortunately, we don't know when The Witcher Season 3 is coming, but we do have a behind-the-scenes photo and an official synopsis to prove that the cameras have begun rolling.
According to Netflix, filming on The Witcher 3 has started. The news comes just a week after Cavill posted a photo of himself training with his new horse and a little over two months after the show's executive producer, Steve Gaub, started looking for suitable locations.
As per the photo's description, The Witcher is days into its production as it shows the series' lead stars, Cavill alongside Freya Allan (Ciri) and Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) donning their respective characters' outfits. Unfortunately, the photo doesn't tell much about what the trio is doing in a chilly location. But, after reading through the full description, the third season will delve deeper into Ciri's much-needed magical training.
