Wednesday Addams, as well as the rest of her bizarre family, have always revelled in the gruesome and morbid. So, was it ever going to be a surprise that Jenna Ortega, who will star as the sullen fashion icon in Netflix's upcoming Wednesday series, looked every bit as ghastly in the show's first trailer?
Netflix kicked off this year's Geeked Week showcase with a look at Wednesday, introducing the Scream star as the series' titular devil child alongside her handy companion, Thing, who will be played by Victor Dorobantu.
As Wednesday starts to come of age, she struggles to control her latent psychic powers. To help her control it, Catherine Zeta-Jones' Morticia and Luis Guzmán's Gomez, Wednesday's mother and father, respectively, send her to Nevermore Academy. However, as people start disappearing around Wednesday, the series' unsmiling protagonist suspects that there are more to it than meets the eye and it's now up to her to find out how her morose family is involved.
Wednesday will also star the likes of Gwendoline Christie, Jamie McShane, Christina Ricci, Riki Lindhome, and Percy Hynes White.
