Lies of P recently become the talk of the town, both in negative and positive ways. This time around, as players sing the game praises for its gameplay and narrative, it’s making rounds all over the internet again because of the possibility of an incoming DLC.
For many gamers, DLCs aren’t just content upgrades. It’s a chance to rectify past criticisms, introduce new elements, and rekindle player interest. Lies of P is a good example that could use all three.
A job posting on Neowiz’s official board, as pointed out by an X (formerly Twitter) user, Okami Games, has spilled the beans. This listing, even though it’s in Korean, hints at the studio’s search for a quest planner for the still-unannounced Lies of P DLC. Although Neowiz is yet to comment – it did, however, point PC Gamer towards a “developer letter” – , if the translated job post is anything to go by, we might indeed be on the brink of an exciting new chapter.

Diving deeper, after finishing Lies of P, it leaves them with a cliffhanger and a tantalizing post-credits scene introducing a familiar face in Dorothy, the lead character of The Wizard of Oz. The ominous line, “I will find her, for sure. Another key of ours: Dorothy,” at the end of the game makes it impossible not to make the connection. This potential mix of Dorothy’s world with the gothic aura of Lies of P can open new frontiers of gameplay and storytelling.
You might wonder, what does Dorothy have to do with a game inspired by Pinocchio? But this unique mash-up might suggest a brilliant fusion of classic tales in a dark, soul-like landscape. This twist has naturally excited fans, debating if this indicates the content of the potential DLC or hints towards a sequel altogether.
Lies of P, despite its initial criticism, delivered an engaging twist on the iconic story of Pinocchio. This wasn’t just a dark fairy tale; it was a narrative deep dive into the psyche of a beloved character. Neowiz combined Pinocchio’s world with Bloodborne’s aesthetics, crafting an environment ripe with mechanical monstrosities challenging our wooden protagonist.
Considering Neowiz’s past endeavors, one can’t help but sense the potential of a masterpiece in the making. Their claim to fame has been a mix of intricate designs and intense narratives. This DLC, if it comes to pass, isn’t any different. The inclusion of such renowned characters from age-old tales into a fresh, yet dark setting, is a move that showcases both bravery and innovation on Neowiz’s part.
While the DLC remains unconfirmed officially, the signs are compelling. Given the game’s initial success and the hints by various sources, including accidental leaks and passionate speculations, Lies of P might be on the verge of offering its players an enhanced and even more immersive experience.
If Lies of P does get an expansion, don’t expect it to come out anytime soon and to be available on the Game Pass. The game itself was part of last month’s addition to the Game Pass, but very rarely do the games on the subscription service come with DLCs.
