It appears that the COVID-19 pandemic isn't just done forcing studios to delay films. This time, Sony's upcoming comic book superhero film, Morbius, will be delayed once again. Instead of premiering on January 28, 2022, audiences won't get a chance to watch the movie until April 1, 2022, which is nearly three full months away.

Why did Sony just delay Morbius?

Morbius Has Just Been Delayed By Three Months To April 2022

Morbius is synonymous with delays at this point. The upcoming Sony film has seen its premiere date change several times throughout the past two years. Sony originally planned to launch Morbius on July 31, 2020. But, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sony decided to push its release date back to March 2021 and then to October 2021. The film was then further delayed to January 21, 2022, and January 28, 2022.

Now, here's to hoping that Morbius' April 1, 2022 release date is final.

Morbius is the third standalone film and the second non-sequel in Sony's Spider-Man universe. Because Sony has effectively loaned out Spider-Man to Marvel and Disney, Sony has created its universe featuring some of web-head's most iconic villains. After starting with Venom in 2018 and Venom: Let There Be Carnage in 2021, Morbius is up next.
