Don’t tell Mr. Krabs but Microsoft has an upcoming Spongebob-themed Xbox Series X and it’s going to cost you a pretty penny.
Microsoft’s Spongebob-themed Xbox Series X is a collaboration between five parties: Xbox, Nickelodeon, Best Buy, Paramount Game Studios, and GameMill. This is a limited edition console that celebrates the iconic animated character SpongeBob SquarePants and the launch of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.
Priced at $699, this premium console bundle will be available for purchase exclusively through Best Buy Drops on the Best Buy mobile app, starting at 8 AM PT on March 7 in the United States.

The bundle is not only a visual treat, featuring the console adorned with SpongeBob’s recognizable cheerful and smiling face but it will also include a custom-themed Xbox Wireless Controller. This controller showcases a colorful array of SpongeBob characters like Squidward, Gary, Patrick, and Mr. Krabs, making it a collector’s item for fans of the series. Additionally, the bundle comes with a digital download of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, allowing players to enjoy the game with a console that matches the theme.
The release of this special edition console is a rare opportunity for fans and collectors alike, as Microsoft typically reserves custom designs for giveaways rather than direct purchases. However, prospective buyers should be prepared for the challenge of acquiring one of these limited edition consoles.
Due to the expected high demand and the limited supply, obtaining the console might prove close to impossible due to its collectible nature.
With its vibrant design, custom controller, and inclusion of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, this bundle offers a comprehensive package that celebrates one of the most beloved characters in animation.
The Xbox Series S/X is seriously lagging behind its main competition, the PlayStation 5, when it comes to sales. But Xbox’s efforts to release custom-themed consoles haven’t gone unnoticed. By making these limited edition consoles more available to the general public, Microsoft could help close the gap.
Speaking of Microsoft, the company recently denied that its biggest exclusives will be on other platforms, namely PlayStation. But a handful of others are indeed headed to its chief rival, including Sea of Thieves.
