Microsoft brings back one-dollar Xbox Game Pass trial offer

It's worth remembering that Microsoft dropped the dollar-priced trial offer for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass back in March.

The timely return of this offer coincides with GTA 5 coming back to the Game Pass for the first time in two years.

Microsoft’s $1 trial for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a longtime fan-favorite, ceased to exist earlier this year as the tech giant went back to the kitchen to cook up other marketing promotions to help grow its industry-leading subscription service.

Many expressed disappointment at the end of this trial offer. It didn’t help that Microsoft raised the prices of the Game Pass just a few months later. Although the Friends & Family plan now exists in certain countries, nothing can beat paying bottom pricing to enjoy some of the best games on the market, especially at launch.

However, as spotted by the Polish video game website, XGP.pl, the dollar-store equivalent of gaming subscriptions is now back. At least, for the meantime.

Exoprimal might not be the biggest game of the month but it, along with the Game Pass’ already robust library, makes the one-dollar deal all the more worth it.

Apparently, Microsoft has subtly re-introduced the fan-favorite deal, giving players another shot at snagging a one-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and/or PC Game Pass for 4 PLN, which is roughly equivalent to a dollar.

Once again, the Xbox Store is an oasis for newbies and returning users. Like before, you can walk in (or rather, click in) and walk out with a one-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription, all for the price of a dollar.

Unfortunately, it’s unclear if this promotion is limited to Poland or if it’s possible to take advantage of this again in other countries. But, it wouldn’t hurt to check out the Xbox Store to see if it’s available for you. If it is, then act fast – we don’t know when Microsoft will pull this offer and make it unavailable again.

Getting a one-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription right now won’t last you long enough to let you enjoy Starfield and Forza Motorsport on September 6 and October 10, respectively. However, the Game Pass remains a steal of a deal, especially for a dollar. Most recently, the Game Pass welcomed its latest additions, headlined by Grand Theft Auto 5 and the not-Dino-Crisis remake, Exoprimal.

Microsoft is currently waiting for the results of its recent court battle against the FTC as part of its $68.7B Activision Blizzard acquisition.
